African Caribbean Medical Society

African Caribbean Medical Society

ACMS is a community of students that provides a supportive platform for African-Caribbean students studying healthcare related courses at the University of Birmingham. We strive to improve representation in healthcare by showcasing existing diversity and celebrating the achievements of African-Caribbean professionals within the healthcare sector. In doing so, we hope to inspire and influence the younger generation of African-Caribbean students to strive for excellence as upcoming healthcare professionals.

Why join us?

Through hosting games nights, hot pots, academic workshops, revision sessions and career events, we hope to create a safe-space for all our members to feel inspired, connected and accepted. At ACMS we know how to have fun, couple that with some of our favourite foods and you know you’re in for a great time!

Who can join?

Any student of the University of Birmingham College of Medical and Dental Sciences. Yes, medics, dentists, nurses, physician associates, pharmacy students and biomed students, we’re talking to you!

How do I join?

Our society is COMPLETELY FREE! We want it to be accessible to everyone as we truly care about community and representation. To become an official member you must sign up via the MedSoc website which can be accessed by clicking the head icon at the top of this page.

Make sure to follow us on our social media platforms – Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter!

We look forward to welcoming you into our ACMS Birmingham family!
