Want to get involved in the largest student-led movement for global health? Then you’ve come to the right place!

Global Brigades is an international non-profit organisation which aims to empower communities in poverty to reach self sustainability, encourage partnership and collaboration between professionals, volunteers and communities, and reduce inequalities with a holistic approach.

With Medical Brigades at UoB, you will be a part of this incredible wider organisation! As a member, you will have the opportunity to fundraise for the charity, contribute to global equality and mobilise ideas and actions for global health improvements!

Also, you will have the chance to go on a Brigade if you’d like to! On these Brigades, you will be a volunteer, usually working alongside the local community and healthcare professionals in mobile medical clinics to provide assistance to hundreds of people in the local population.
Clinics will provide pro-bono general medical consultations as well as medication, pap-smears, vision screenings and other specialised care. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work in triage, shadow physicians, provide education workshops, and help to distribute medicine in the pharmacy.
In 2019, the UoB Brigade in Honduras saw 708 people attending their clinic days, so it’s an amazing opportunity to help your global community, whilst broadening your cultural understanding and meeting new people!
