Men’s Football (UBMS FC)

The Official page for the UBMSFC. The University of Birmingham Medical School Men’s Football Club (UBMS FC) is proud to welcome you to our fantastic club!

We are a social, multi-cultural and competitive club with players of all levels of abilities. With four 11-a-side teams, an extremely prestigious Medsoc 7-a-side league, a Fresher’s 7-a-side team competing in the university leagues and weekly training and fitness sessions, there is more than enough football for everyone. This year the 1st XI will compete for the first time in the Premier Division of the Birmingham Amateur Football Association. The 2nd XI play in Division 3 and will look to be pushing for promotion this year. Both the 1st and 2nd XI also enter into Birmingham AFA cup competitions, with the 2nd XI suffering heartbreak in the final of the ‘famous’ Jeff’s cup last time out.The 3rd XI compete against other medical schools across the UK within the NAMS2 tourament, playing home and away games alternate weeks. The 4th XI competes against other University of Birmingham societies in the Sunday Intramural league. In addition, the club competes in the national medical schools (NAMS) football tournament which is always an excellent weekend away!

Sometimes however, the football must take a back seat for our social ambitions! In an average year we have the Trails Day social, Fresher’s “welcome drinks”, the Old Boys game and black tie dinner, the Chairman’s curry, NAMS weekend away and ‘Tour’ just to name a few! Tour has been located in the exotic cities of Dublin, Malta, Dusseldorf and Barcelona in recent years.
