Netball

The Official page for the UBMS Netball team – Medsoc Sport of the Year 22/23! UBMS Netball welcomes absolutely everyone, from those who love netball and are experienced players, to those who just want to try it out, make new friends and have some fun.

We currently have 8 teams playing competitively in leagues, as well as a social team. Our top two teams play in Regional and Division 2 of the Worcester league (WCNL), as well as the National Association of Medical Schools league, with UBMS 1 becoming NAMS champions in 2019 and UBMS 2 being runners up in 2023! UBMS 3, 4 and 6 all play in the Birmingham Netball League, UBMS 5 plays in the MatchNight Birmingham league, and UBMS 7 and 8 play in weekday Go Mammoth leagues.

Training is on a Tuesday night, split into 2 halves dependent on teams and begins outdoor on the Uni courts before moving indoors at the end of October to the nearby Kings Edward VI High School for girls. This includes fitness, ran by our ‘Netsweat’ rep, drills and match play.

Alongside all of this, we have regular socials, including curry/pizza nights, pub crawls and Wednesday sports nights! Every year we have an amazing tour, with 50 of us heading to Leeds in 2023 for a weekend filled with surprise activities, food and nights out in the city.
